Barnacles in the deep-sea vents
It is interesting to know how the researchers execute their exploration. To extend further research on Kawio Barat, using CTD to measure the volcano's salinity, temperature, depth and concentration of particles in the water column helps scientists understand and discover deep-sea hydrothermal vent ecosystems. With the help of the Little Hercules ROV, they are able to discover a veritable field of animals and chimneys festooned with barnacles and rocks covered with shrimp. In addition, small worms in tubes, large limpets and snails are also found. They have found a thriving community over a large area of diffuse venting. However, the barnacles interested me the most. It extended like blooming flowers, then folded back into the shell and the overall effect of thousands of blooming barnacles was stunning. It makes me wonder how the barnacles really look like in reality. To discover the unknown ecosystem of the deep-sea vents fascinated me.
